Former Secretary of State, U.S. Senator and First Lady of the United States Hillary Clinton (D) launched her presidential bid today. Clinton's campaign chairman, John Podesta, made the announcement via email to top donors and supporters.[1]

Shortly after the email, her campaign website went live with a video entitled Getting Started. "Americans have fought their way back from tough economic times but the deck is still stacked in favor of those at the top. Everyday Americans need a champion, and I want to be that champion," Clinton stated in the video.

Yesterday, Clinton received a vote of confidence from 2008 opponent President Barack Obama, "I think she would be an excellent president."[2]

Clinton is the wife of former President Bill Clinton and served as the first lady during President Clinton's two terms. She also ran in the Democratic presidential primary in 2008 against Obama and served in his administration as the Secretary of State from 2009 to 2013.[3]
