Hathaway and Robert A. Singer, and four challengers, Joanne Fawley, M.J. Noor, Zina B. Gleason and Ho Jeong Lim. All three incumbents won their bids for re-election.

Funding
Lim filed Form 470 with the Orange County Registrar of Voters, indicating he did not intend to raise or spend more than $1,000 for his 2014 campaign. Because of this, Lim did not have to file any additional campaign finance reports.[2]
