Two Hockinson School District Levy Replacement measures were on the February 14, 2012 ballot in the Hockinson school district area which is in Clark County.
Both measures were approved
The first measure sought to replace the current school operations levy which is set to expire with one set at a rate of $3.90 for a period of four years in order to pay for operational and maintenance costs in the district.
The second measure sought to replace the current school technology levy which is set to expire with one set at a rate of $.59 for a period of four years in order to pay for technology and safety upgrades in the district.[1]

The question on the ballot:
Proposition 1: The Board of Directors of Hockinson School District No. 98 adopted Resolution No. 11-12-01, concerning a proposition to finance school programs and operations expenses. This proposition would authorize the District to levy the following excess taxes, in place of an expiring levy, on all taxable property within the District, for support of the District’s General Fund school programs and operations expenses: Collection Year: 2013-2016; Approximate Levy Rate Per $1,000 Assessed Value: $3.90, $3.90, $3.86, $3.82; Levy Amount: $3,350,00. All as provided in Resolution No. 11-12-01. Should this proposition be approved?
Proposition 2: The Board of Directors of Hockinson School District No. 98 adopted Resolution No. 11-12-02, concerning a proposition to finance technology and school improvements. This proposition would authorize the District, only if Proposition 1 is approved, to acquire and install educational technology to improve instruction and make other technology, safety, security and facility improvements, and levy the following excess taxes, in place of an expiring levy, on all taxable property within the District: Collection Year: 2013-2016; Approximate Levy Rate Per $1,000 Assessed Value: $.59, $.58; Levy Amount: $511,00. All as provided in Resolution No. 11-12-02. Should this proposition be approved?[3] |
