Holladay Justice Court Nominees Selected

Holladay, Utah: Nominees have been announced for the upcoming vacancy in the Holladay City Justice Court. The vacancy is due to the retirement of Judge Daniel B. Gibbons on July 5, 2011.[1]

The Salt Lake County Nominating Commission has selected the following three nominees. They are listed by their name, place of employment and place of residence.[1]

  • Augustus G. Chin, J.D., Wasatch Advocates, Salt Lake City;
  • Clinton D. Jensen, J.D., Administrative Law Judge, Utah State Tax Commission, Salt Lake City;
  • Judge Sydney Magid, J.D., Salt Lake City Corp., Sydney Magid, PC, Salt Lake City;

The final candidate will be selected by Holladay City Manager Randy Fitts after a comment period lasting through until June 13, 2011. After this period Fitts has only 30 days to make an appointment, which will be subject to ratification by the Holladay City Council.[1]

From there, the appointments must be certified by the Utah Judicial Council.[1]
