Biography
Hollis Lewis was born in Charleston, West Virginia. He earned a high school diploma from George Washington High School, a B.S. in criminal justice from West Virginia State University in 2005, and a J.D. from the Southern University Law Center in 2012. His career experience includes working as a law clerk, Kanawha County magistrate judge, adjunct professor, and director.[1][2][3]

Upon graduating from law school, Hollis returned to Charleston and has held several positions including Federal clerk, Kanawha County Magistrate Judge, and member of the West Virginia Parole Board. Currently, Hollis serves in the West Virginia House of Delegates representing the 57st district. In addition, he is the WV Crisis Invention Teams Project Director for First Choice Services and is an Adjunct Professor at West Virginia State University in the Criminal Justice department.
In addition to his employment, Hollis sits on several Boards including, CURA, the Clay Center, Westside Together Foundation (Chair) and is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.
Hollis is married to his wife the Dr. Elisha Lewis; they have four daughters.- The most pressing issues the 2025 West Virginia Legislature must tackle are the rising costs of housing, healthcare, utilities, and childcare, which are putting immense pressure on families. I will vote for policies that promote affordable housing development, funding for education, and support healthcare, childcare, and utility reforms to lower costs. Ensuring that essential services remain accessible will help increase our population, make us globally competitive, and is crucial for the well-being of our state.
- West Virginia is experiencing an epidemic concerning mental health and substance use disorder. We must provide funding for regional behavioral health agencies and provide additional training for first responders including law enforcement, fire departments, EMS, and 911.
- We must preserve public education. Education is the pathway for those born into poverty to changes their circumstances. We must provide funding including, increasing teacher's salary, updating facilities, and upgrading curriculum.
