Hollister School District Annexation (April 2010)
A Hollister School District Annexation measure was on the April 6, 2010 ballot in the Hollister school district which is in Taney and Stone Counties.
This measure was approved
- YES 433
- NO 212[1]
This measure sought to annex the Hollister school district to the Ozarks Technical Community College district and increase local property taxes by $.15 per $100 of assessed property value.[2] School officials held meetings to educated voters on this issue, hoping that the reduced tuition costs would be incentive to get a positive vote on the issue. Since it was approved, the community college will build a campus in the Hollister school district, reducing costs to residents who would attend. Officials believe that having a community college in the district would benefit the area overall, adding jobs and further education.[3]
