Honey Creek & Sunset East Annexation Revocation (February 2010)
There were two Annexation Revocation measures on the February 9 ballot in King County for voters in the Honey Creek and Sunset East areas.
Both measures were approved
Honey Creek Area Annexation
Sunset East Area Annexation
- YES 6 (85.71%)
- NO 1 (14.29%)[1]
Both measure asked voters if they wanted to revoke the city of Renton's annexation of their area and instead become again unincorporated areas in King County.[2] The city of Renton annexed these two areas and they decided to challenge this annexation. A yes vote would revoke the Renton annexation of the areas. Both areas argue that taxes would be raised, but city officials stated that no tax increases would occur.[3]
