Horace Sheffield
Horace Sheffield III was a 2014 Democratic candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 13th Congressional District of Michigan.[1]
Biography
Rev. Sheffield is the pastor of New Destiny Christian Fellowship Church in Detroit, Michigan. His father, Horace Sheffield Jr., was a labor activist for the United Auto Workers Union (UAW).[1]
Elections
2014
Sheffield ran in the 2014 election for the U.S. House to represent Michigan's 13th District. Sheffield lost the Democratic nomination in the primary on August 5, 2014, to longtime incumbent John Conyers, Jr..[2]

Noteworthy events
In January 2014, Sheffield was charged with misdemeanor domestic violence after an incident with his estranged wife.[3] A jury found him not guilty.[4]
