Horace Stainback was a 2018 Democratic candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 8th Congressional District of North Carolina. He withdrew from the race in February 2018.[1]

Stainback was a candidate for an at-large seat on the Cabarrus County Schools Board of Education in North Carolina. He was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014.

Stainback is a dental hygienist. He earned an industrial engineering degree from North Carolina State University and a degree from Greenville Tech in 2007. Stainback is a member of Concord First Assembly Church and a past president of the Rutherford County Rotary Club. He has four children.[2]
