Horacio "Ray" Carrera is an at-large member of the Passaic school board in New Jersey. He won re-election in a general election on April 23, 2014. He was first elected to the board on April 27, 2011.

Horacio "Ray" Carrera is a resident of Passaic, New Jersey. Carrera is employed as a loan originator. He also serves on the Passaic Planning Board, Mexican-American Chamber of Commerce, the School Leadership Council at School 9 and as a member of the Board of Directors for Passaic’s Head Start program.[1]

Horacio Carrera and fellow incumbents Kenia Flores and Richard Diaz defeated challenger Rene L. Griggs to keep their at-large seats in the general election on April 23, 2014. The three incumbents created a joint candidates committee to run as a slate.
