Horacio Moreno Valenzuela represents Trustee Area 3 on the Hemet Unified School District Board of Education in California. He was first elected to the board on November 2, 2010.
Valenzuela ran unopposed and won re-election in the general election on November 4, 2014.[1]
Biography
Valenzuela retired from his position as a librarian and library media teacher for the Hemet Unified School District in 2006. Before joining Hemet Unified, he worked for the San Jacinto Unified School District. Valenzuela currently works as an adjunct faculty associate librarian for the Mt. San Jacinto Community College District. He earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from California State University at Fullerton and his teaching credential at California State University at Los Angeles.[2]
Valenzuela and his wife have three children who all graduated from the Hemet Unified School District. Their six grandchildren now attend schools in the district.[2]
Elections
2014
Four seats on the Hemet Unified School District Board of Education were up for general election on November 4, 2014. Incumbent Victor J. Scavarda ran unopposed and won re-election to Trustee Area 1. Incumbents Horacio Moreno Valenzuela and Joe M. Wojcik also ran unopposed and won re-election to the two Trustee Area 3 seats. No incumbent filed to run for the Trustee Area 2 seat, leaving the race to two candidates, Maurice Chacon and Megan A. Haley. Haley defeated Chacon to win the election.
Results
This election was canceled due to lack of opposition. Incumbents Horacio Moreno Valenzuela and Joe M. Wojcik won re-election to the two Trustee Area 3 seats by default.[3]
