My name is Horng "Andrew" Jeng, and for over a decade I've had the privilege of calling Osceola my home. As an active volunteer, community leader, and owner of an independent technology business, I want to bring a new vision to the Florida State House that's focused on economic growth and the improvement of quality of life for our residents.
  • As your next State Representative, I will work to improve our transit system.
  • As your next State Representative, I will work to create higher-paying jobs.
  • As your next State Representative, I will work to improve public safety.
With your support, we will make our community in District 43 an economic leader in the State of Florida, providing residents with diverse career opportunities and increased safety standards, creating a better environment in which to live and work.
My father impacted me greatly. He was a police officer in Taiwan. He was strong in discipline and integrity, and dedicated his life to the community and the safety of all. My first business partner shared his experience in the use of computers in business, and how they can help people.

From history, the example of our 16th President, Abraham Lincoln, is someone I look up to. He was knowledgeable in the law and acted as a true steward of the people as they weathered the worst storm in our nation's history. His legacy of equality is one from which I draw inspiration.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, is another direct inspiration, as he peacefully battled to secure more rights for all men and women.

Finally, I must give credit to President John F. Kennedy for the inspiration I drew from his example of integrity and encouragement to American democracy. His vision of a man on the moon before anyone knew it was possible showed me that our dreams should not be limited.
Profiles in Courage, a book written by John F Kennedy and Ted Sorenson, is a continuing source of inspiration for myself. Elected officials must be willing to stand up for what they believe is right, true, and just. This book tells great stories of politicians who did just that. It is a good primer for showing what courage is in both politics and in general.
I am a person of integrity. I endeavor to be honest in my dealings with other people, and I have principles which I believe will serve my constituents well in Tallahassee. I have shown in the past that I have the courage to stand up for what I believe is right for my constituents. I believe in equality and fairness for everyone.
The attacks of September 11th, 2001 still strike me as the 1st really historical events to take place in my lifetime.
I worked in computer repair, which I still do today.
The Power of Intention, by Dr. Wayne Dyer, is a fantastic tool for improving one's communication with other people. It is a resource I use to help me understand the behavior of other human beings, thereby aiding me in my communication with others.
I am very jealous of Marty, the main character from Back to the Future.
Managing our water resources is key. We must do better for future generations as well as those living now. Our water belongs to all of us. We must take action to better conserve, protect, and to clean the waters we all depend upon.

Water is a very important element of the beautiful ecosystem which exists all around us, here in Florida. That ecosystem is in danger of being lost to greed and mismanagement, and the local voices of Florida must come together in Tallahassee to figure out how we can keep our biodiversity and natural environment intact for future Floridians and visitors.
It is essential that the Governor and the Legislature maintain an amicable and productive working relationship. Both sides must embrace the role the other plays and help each-other. At the same time, both sides must do their Constitutional duty by keeping the other side accountable to the people of Florida.
Yes, it is beneficial to build relationships whenever and wherever possible. In a room of 120 people from all over the state, having good relations with Representatives on both sides of the party divide would only help my constituents and the people of Florida.
Transportation is a key issue for my district, and a concern for myself. There are 2 subcommittees for Transportation and I want to be on both.

Technology is my own business. I believe I could bring a lot of experience and information to that committee.

As education is such a large part of what the State Government does, and our area can only benefit from more dollars being spent to educate us, I have every intent to take my work to the appropriations subcommittees on PreK-12 and higher education.
