Judicial misconduct
Patton was accused of making false claims to authorities. In 1997, Patton accused James Jennings Jr. of Mendenhall of trying to bribe Patton. Those charges were dismissed, and Jennings is alleging in a 2008 suit that Patton falsified the charges. He was suspended for 30 days without pay on March 31, 2011.[4][5]
