An effort to recall Bob Baumann, Kate Garza, Molly Powers, and Megan Rozowski from their positions on the Hudson School District school board did not go to a vote.[1][2]
Recall supporters
The recall effort began after the school board voted 6-1 to close Willow River Elementary and Houlton Elementary. Baumann, Garza, Powers, and Rozowski voted in favor of the closures.[1]
Recall opponents
In a letter to the Star-Observer, Baumann, Garza, Powers, and Rozowski wrote in part, "We are aware of the recall effort targeting the four of us. It’s important to clarify that this effort has no basis in any criminal or unethical conduct but rather a disagreement with the decision to close schools." They also stated, "We are concerned that misinformation — not facts — is driving this movement. Our community deserves the truth about why we voted to close schools."[3] The letter can be read in full here.
