Ian Masters
Ian Masters (Republican Party) is a member of the West Virginia House of Delegates, representing District 91. He assumed office on January 24, 2025. His current term ends on December 1, 2026.
Gov. Patrick Morrisey (R) appointed Masters to the West Virginia House of Delegates District 91 on January 23, 2025 to replace Joseph de Soto. De Soto's seat was vacated on January 8, 2025, after De Soto was arrested for making terroristic threats against members of the West Virginia House of Delegates.[1][2]
Biography
Ian Masters earned both a bachelor's degree and a law degree from West Virginia University. His career experience includes working as an attorney.[3] Masters has been involved with the West Virginia Citizens Defense League (WVCDL) since 2015, including serving as President of the organization.[3]
Scorecards
A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.
