|That all changed in middle school when my father traveled to Jordan to care for his ailing mother and was denied re-entry to the U.S. by the Bush Administration. My family uprooted and relocated to stay together and fight for my father’s reinstatement. It took eleven years, but we won.
I worked hard in school so I could one day return to the country I loved. I attended American University and went on to Boston University for dental school. Today, I run a community based dental practice serving patients throughout metro DC.
Now, I serve in Virginia’s House of Delegates to give back—by helping families stay healthy, with more opportunities to succeed, and more time to spend together.- Healthcare as Human Right
- Quality, Affordable Housing for All
- A Healthy Democracy at our core
We need quality, affordable housing and healthcare as human rights for all, with a healthy democracy at our core.
We need public health justice for our most burdened people because if we don't, even the most privileged among us will struggle. We need to be able to progress through this decade without hesitations or else the evils of Virginia's past, the legacy of the confederacy and segregation, will continue to brew underneath the surface and white supremacy will find its way back to the White House and the US Capitol, again.
He earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from the Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine at Boston University in 2017. While he attended dental school, Samirah was a member of the American Dental Association, Black Lives Matter, Students for Justice in Palestine, and Jewish Voice for Peace.

Scorecards
A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.
Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
