The Idaho Privatization of Liquor Sales Initiative was not put on the November 8, 2016 ballot in Idaho as an initiated state statute. The idea behind the measure was to privatize liquor sales throughout the state.[1]

No initiative to privatize liquor sales in the state had been submitted for the November 2016 election.

Support

In 2014, Joe Gilliam, President of the Northwest Grocery Association, said that a ballot initiative might be developed in 2015.[1]

The number of signatures required would have been equal to 6 percent of the registered voters as of the preceding general election in each of at least 18 legislative districts. Since there was a general election in November 2014, the signature requirements for initiatives in 2016 were determined by the certified 2014 election results. No initiative seeking to privatize alcohol sales in Idaho was submitted for circulation for the November 8, 2016 election.
