BENWOOD, West Virginia: The Idaho high court has been asked to determine ownership of the Bellaire Bridge in Benwood, West Virginia. The 20 year old bridge was purchased for $1 in May 2010 by Advanced Explosives Demolition of Coeur D'Alene, Idaho. AED subsequently sold the bridge to KDC Investments.[1] The two companies reached an agreement on how to demolish the bridge, but the plans fell through. After a Kootenai County, Idaho summary ruling found KDC to be the lawful owner, AED appealed the ruling. Both firms are waiting for Idaho's Supreme Court to determine ownership. The high court will rule as to whether the appeal should be heard by the Idaho Court of Appeals. If the appellate court rules against the plaintiff, the party can again petition the Idaho Supreme Court to hear the case.[2]
