Robert Gibson is the superintendent of the Idalou Independent School District. Gibson was appointed superintendent on February 21, 2020. Gibson's previous career experience includes working as superintendent of schools for the Schleicher County Independent School District and as a principal at Eldorado High School.[1]

Members of the Idalou Independent School District school board are elected to four-year terms. Three or four seats are up for election on a staggered basis in even-numbered years.
Four seats on the board were scheduled for general election on May 4, 2024. The election was canceled and the candidates were automatically elected after only one candidate filed per seat. The filing deadline for this election was February 16, 2024.
