Idris O’Connor is a progressive Democrat running to represent the 31st District in the Virginia House of Delegates. Idris lives in Dale City, Virginia and he represents the Neabsco District on the Prince William County Social Service Advisory Board, and is the Chairperson of the Cooperative Council of Ministries (CCoM) which is a coalition of churches and non-profits that serves and advocates for people experiencing homelessness. Idris grew up in a working-class family. He was taught the values of caring for those in need, standing up against injustice, and empowering the disenfranchised.

He graduated from Prince William County Public Schools and the Sorensen Institute of Political Leadership.

He is also involved in various community non-profits like the Good News Community Kitchen, the Prince William NAACP, and the Greater Prince William Climate Action Network.

Idris is an advocate for the immigrant community, ending homelessness, and combating climate change .
  • I will fight to increase funding for our public schools and higher education.
  • I will work to end homelessness and tackle the issues of poverty in the Commonwealth.
  • I will create a public option for heath insurance for working families.
Ending homelessness and poverty, strengthening our state's Democracy, investing and transitioning to a green economy and combating climate change, criminal justice reform, expanding affordable housing, increasing funding for public education and higher education, protecting labor rights, supporting our veterans, making Virginia a place that is welcoming to the immigrant community and codifying women's rights into our Constitution.
