Jackson is an attorney based near Plaquemine, La., in the unincorporated village of Seymourville. His career in state government includes serving as general counsel for the state department of natural resources until 2013 and as chief of the natural resources division of the Louisiana attorney general's office.[1]

Primary election

No candidate received an outright majority in the blanket primary election on October 24, 2015. The two candidates with the most votes, who qualified for the November 21st runoff election, were incumbent Buddy Caldwell (R) and Jeff Landry (R).[3]
