The Illinois Ad Valorem Tax Prohibition Amendment, also known as Amendment 1, was on the ballot in Illinois on November 3, 1970, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. It proposed to prohibit the taxation of personal property by valuation.[1]
