Illinois Crime Victims Amendment did not appear on the November 2, 2010 ballot in Illinois as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. The measure proposed strengthening the rights provided to crime victims, particularly in the case of appeals. Despite being an appealing amendment for lawmakers to place on the ballot, lawmakers became concerned about the state limit of three constitutional amendments on the general ballot. Weightier ideas, said lawmakers, should take precedence.[1][2]
