Illinois Gateway Amendment (1892)

The Illinois Gateway Amendment was on the ballot in Illinois on November 8, 1892, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was defeated. It proposed to allow the general assembly to propose amendments to two articles of the constitution in each session instead of just one.[1]
