The Illinois Senatorial Apportionment Amendment, also known as Amendment 1, was on the ballot in Illinois on November 2, 1954, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. This measure proposed a number of rules related to the drawing of senatorial districts in Illinois. It proposed that there be 58 districts and that they should be redistricted in 1955, 1963 and every ten years going forward.[1]
