The Indiana Filling Vacancies in the General Assembly, Amendment 5, also known as Amendment 5, was on the ballot in Indiana on November 7, 1972, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. The amendment proposed that the state constitution be amended to permit the General Assembly to establish by law a method of filling vacancies in the General Assembly.[1]
