Indiana Supreme Court rules Charlie White eligible for office

Indianapolis, Indiana: This morning the Indiana Supreme Court unanimously ruled that Charlie White was eligible for Office despite registering to vote at his ex-wife's home.[1][2][3] This ruling does not overturn White's criminal conviction in Hamilton County.[4] White was found guilty of voter fraud charges, and on February 23, 2012 he was sentenced to one year home detention by judge Steven R. Nation.[4] This ruling means that Governor Mitch Daniels is eligible to appoint a permanent Secretary of State; there is a chance that this appointment will be very short term if White's criminal conviction is overturned.[1][3] The Supreme Court cited precedence when issuing the ruling, stating that they had never overturned an election before, and were thus hesitant to do so and go against the will of the voters.[3]
