Ms McClellan has experience investing public funds. She is the chief investment officer and banking officer of Monroe County. Ms. McClellan added investments to the Monroe County investment portfolio in 2018, increasing investment income for the county.

Ms. McClellan is committed to increasing Hoosier families access to the College Choice 529 Savings Plan, serving unbanked Hoosiers through community partnerships with local banks, increasing investment income for local governments and protecting state tax collections with prudent oversight and security.

Ms. McClellan has been endorsed by the Indiana AFL-CIO, Indiana Latino Democratic Caucus, Indiana Stonewall Democrats, Indiana Moms Demand Action, the Indiana Black Legislative Caucus PAC, Indiana Young Democrats and Indiana National Organization for Women.
Ms McClellan is passionate about eliminating food deserts, serving the elderly and children facing food shortages, and establishing community relationships with retail grocery stores. She serves as treasurer of the Hoosier Hills Food Bank, which supplies food to food pantries in a 6 county area of southern Indiana.
