Aleesia Johnson is the superintendent of Indianapolis Public Schools. Johnson began serving as interim superintendent in January 2019 and was appointed full superintendent in June 2019. Johnson's previous career experience includes working as the district's deputy superintendent for academics and innovation officer.[1][2]

- Lewis D. Ferebee was the superintendent of Indianapolis Public Schools from 2013 to 2018.[3]

The Indianapolis Public Schools school board consists of seven members elected to four-year terms. Five members are elected by district, and two are elected at large.[4]

Academic performance
