Inez Reid
Inez Smith Reid was a senior judge on the District of Columbia Court of Appeals. She retired from the court, assuming senior status, in 2011.[1]
Education
Reid received an undergraduate degree from Tufts University, a J.D. from Yale Law School, a Master of Arts from the University of California at Los Angeles, a Ph.D. from Columbia University and a Master of Laws in Judicial Process from the University of Virginia School of Law.[2]
Career
Prior to joining the court, Reid was general counsel for the New York State Division for Youth, in addition to serving as deputy general counsel for regulation review for the Department of Health, Education and Welfare. She was also inspector general of the Environmental Protection Agency and corporation counsel for the District of Columbia. Reid also worked in private practice.[2]
Teaching career
Reid was an adjunct professor at American University, the State University of New York, City University of New York, Barnard College, Columbia University and the University of West Virginia College of Law.[2]
