The 100th General Assembly Missouri House rules described the function of this committee as outlined below.

The Committee on Insurance Policy may consider and report upon bills and matters referred to it relating to insurance, insurance companies, and the Department of Insurance, Financial Institutions and Professional Registration.[1][2]
