It’s critically important to me that the voices of our rural communities be heard so they can continue to grow and thrive for our children, who will one day continue on our businesses, farms, and communities. I am a proponent of fighting for anything that helps our small businesses develop and grow, as well as continuing to attract investment by the diverse array of businesses that are willing to invest in our Iowa communities, all of which support our economy to keep rural Iowa strong for future generations.

I’m a believer in faith, freedom, safety, and common sense, and if you vote for me, these are four of the principles that will guide my service to you in the Statehouse.

I believe as a state, we need to do more to invest in rural Iowa. That means an investment in jobs, housing, broadband, and child care so young families can make rural Iowa a place to call home. We need to prioritize skyscrapers in Des Moines less, and businesses on main street more.
I am most passionate about any policy that strengthens our rural communities and the strong agriculture community that makes up HD76. As an active farmer, I think we need to continue to let farmers do what they do best by continuing to encourage and reward them for preserving our precious resources abundant in Iowa of our land, air and water. Also, as a product of a smaller-sized school (Hudson) where my kids now attend, I know the value of ensuring our schools have what they need. I’ll work to ensure our schools continue to receive reliable and sustainable increases in education funding to help meet their budgetary needs so they can focus on their work of educating our next generation of Iowa’s workforce. I also want to make sure that when we fund programs and tax credits aimed at creating jobs, that rural Iowa receives the attention it deserves for these programs.
