The Iowa Residency Requirements Amendment, also known as Amendment 1, was on the ballot in Iowa on November 3, 1970, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. The measure allowed the general assembly to alter periods of residence to vote for various officers or in various elections.[1][2]
