The Iowa Retirement of Judges Amendment, also known as Amendment 1, was on the ballot in Iowa on November 7, 1972, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. The measure allowed for the retirement of judges for disability and to discipline or remove them for good cause.[1][2]
