Not on ballot

The Iowa Same-Sex Marriage Ban Amendment did not make the 2014 ballot in the state of Iowa as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. The measure would have banned same-sex marriage in the state. According to reports, the measure, which was pushed by supporters during 2012 state legislative session, did not gain enough traction to make the ballot.[1]

Path to the ballot

A majority vote was required, in two successive sessions, of the Iowa General Assembly in order to refer this measure to the ballot.
