Iowa court refuses review of stip club case
February 10, 2010
Iowa: On Wednesday, February 9, the Iowa Court of Appeals dismissed a review, requested by the state, of a case involving a 17 year old preforming at a strip club. Law in Iowa forbids minors from preforming acts meant to arouse patrons unless preformed at theaters or other art venues, and the state failed, in 2008, to prove that the club was not such a place to the court. The case was refused review due to double jeopardy rules that forbid the defendant from being tried twice for the same offense based on the same facts.[1]
