The Iowa judicial elections of 2010 consisted of a retention election on November 2, 2010 at the same time as the general election.

Overview

In Iowa, judges are chosen by a merit selection system. A nominating commission presents a list of qualified individuals to the governor, who then appoints judges from the list. After one year of judicial service and at regular intervals, judges must run in retention elections.
