Ira H. Margulis
Ira H. Margulis was a judge of the New York Supreme Court 11th Judicial District. He assumed office in 2012. He left office on December 31, 2023.
Margulis previously served on the New York City Criminal Court of Queens County, beginning in 2003.[1]

2011
Margulis was elected to the Supreme Court on November 8, 2011 with 9.7 percent of the vote. He competed against eleven candidates for six open seats.[2][3]

Education
Margulis received his B.A. degree (honors in political science) from the City University of New York, Queens College in 1972 and his J.D. degree from the Hofstra School of Law in 1975.[1]
Career
Margulis began his career in 1975 as an Assistant Queens County District Attorney. He then served as a law secretary to Justice Joseph Farlo from 1981 to 1990 and to Justice David Goldstein from 1991 to 1994. In 1995, Margulis became the Chief of the New York City Comptroller's Bureau of Labor Law. He then worked briefly in 2003 as an assistant comptroller for internal audit prior to his judicial appointment later that year.[1]
