Ira Kimball
Ira Kimball was a candidate for the District G seat on the Clark County Board of Trustees in Nevada. He lost election against incumbent Erin E. Cranor and challenger Joe Spencer in a primary election on June 10, 2014. Kimball was critical of the current board for poor budget management and claimed that they have "lost credibility" during an interview prior to the primary.[1]
Biography
Kimball taught at district schools for 30 years prior to his retirement in 1999.[2]

Ira Kimball ran in the June 10, 2014, primary against Joe Spencer and Erin E. Cranor. District F incumbent Carolyn Edwards faced Ileetha J. Groom and Ralph Krauss. The District D primary included incumbent Stavan Corbett and challengers Kevin L. Child, Wesley Cornwell and Charles Ware.

Funding
Kimball reported $349.49 in contributions and $495.34 in expenditures to the Nevada Secretary of State, which left his campaign with $145.85 in debt.[3]

Kimball did not receive any official endorsements for his campaign.
Campaign themes
2014
Kimball explained his themes for the 2014 race in an interview with the Las Vegas Review-Journal. He addressed the issue of school overcrowding by suggesting year-round schools and schedule changes though opposes expanding middle schools to fifth-grade students. Kimball also criticized current board members for excessive district spending and would not support a property-tax increase without some budget changes.[1]
