Campaign themes

2014

Littleton's campaign website highlighted the following issues:[1]

Education

  • Excerpt: "We need to reward teachers and provide the type of education that will make us a world class educational environment again. First we need to opt out of Common Core! Always remember, our children are our future."

Second Amendment

  • Excerpt: "We must support the 2nd Amendment. In Arizona we have gun rights, but with all this happening across the country, we must stand up for these rights and not let them be changed in any way. The states with gun rights have the lowest crime rate; let’s keep Arizona’s gun laws right where they are."

Economy

  • Excerpt: "Arizona’s Economy was in great shape, with a surplus. Now it is in jeopardy with the introduction of the Medicaid Expansion. This law will cost the Arizona tax payers more in our state tax and probably in our sales tax. We must protect our citizens, but there are better ways than allowing the Affordable Health Care Act into Arizona. We had 15 Republicans vote for this, and they have been rewarded by our Governor. I will do whatever possible to overturn this law."
  • Excerpt: "I would like to work with other members of Congress to start the process of elimination our State Income Tax. It will be a long process but something that must be addressed."

Immigration

  • Excerpt: "The immigration issue in Pinal County has to be dealt with. Our lawmakers and the Pinal County Sheriff have done their best to stave off the influx on illegal aliens into Arizona. SB1070 was shot down by the courts and we are left with no alternatives. Illegal aliens cost Arizona 2 Billion dollar a year for school, medical and yes even prisons. Our porous boarder is also allowing folks from other countries through that could harm our country. I certainly don’t have all the answers, but as part of the Senate in Arizona, I will do everything I can help this situation."
