Irma Newburn is a judge in the 5th Judicial District of Oklahoma. She was appointed by Republican Governor Mary Fallin on September 16, 2016, to succeed Judge Keith Byron Aycock.[1]
Biography
Newburn received a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Cameron University and a J.D. from Oklahoma City University School of Law. She worked in the Comanche County District Attorney’s Office from 2008 until her judicial appointment in 2016. Her position at the office was first district attorney. Newburn was appointed to the Oklahoma Board of Corrections by Governor Mary Fallin in 2015. Her professional experience also includes working for a year in a private law practice, as a deputy court clerk, and as a clerk for the Lawton Police Department.[1]
