Reverend Irvin L. Barrett has been married since 1994 to First Lady Nickquolette Barrett and has two beautiful children, Irvin II and Nadia. Reverend Barrett and his family reside in Allen, TX. ​Reverend Barrett has dedicated his life to serving. Reverend Barrett was born into a strongly religious family in Broadview, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. Growing up, Reverend Barrett served as an Altar Attendant, Jr. Deacon, and Deacon within the church. Feeling a calling on his life, Reverend Barrett preached his first sermon at the age of 15. Reverend Barrett is currently enjoying his third Pastoral leadership at the historic Sunlight Missionary Baptist Church of Beaumont, TX. Reverend Barrett served as the treasurer for the National Presidents, Moderators, Pastors & Ministers Conference, is a member of the Beaumont Area Pastor’s Council, the Minister’s Union of Beaumont TX, the Missionary Baptist General Convention of Texas, and is a General Bowen District Association Junior Women Sponsor. Reverend Barrett continues to be a leader across the community as he served as the President of the Minister’s Conference., the Concerned Clergy Coalition of Golden Triangle, Northeast Houston Interfaith Council, and the Vice Chairman of the Evangelical Board.
  • Education is extremally important. Reverend Barrett believes it is a great equalizer in our country. As Justice of the Peace, Reverend Barrett is responsible for handling Truancy cases from the various ISDs in Pct.3. Reverend Barrett will work with the ISDs to prevent truancy and install a community driven sentencing program for truants to ensure they learnt he value of education while also providing a positive impact in their community.
  • Accessibility to the courtroom is another key point for Reverend Barrett. He believes the Justice of the Peace works for the people; not the other way around. Collin County is full of hard-working individuals. It is the Justice of the Peace's responsibility to make the court more accessible to you via Zoom court and weekend court dates to accommodate working residents.
  • Our environment is our community. As Justice of the Peace Reverend Irvin will handle tenant and property management disputes as well as handling small claims disputes between community members. Done right; this can lower community disputes, and save residents more of their hard-earned tax dollars.
Education is something Reverend Barrett is extremely passionate about. Outside of ministry, Reverend Barrett continues his life mission to serve others as a BISD Key Communicator at Lamar Early College Campus. Clergy in the Court for Kids with Child Protective Services, as Pastoral Liaison. He is a Beaumont Clergy Police Officer (Clergy and Policy Partnership) and devotional contributor for the Beaumont Police Association Newsletter. In his spare time, Reverend Barrett works with youth Recovery Communities and fosters Community Dialogue.
