Isaac E. Barron
Isaac Barron is a member of the North Las Vegas City Council in Nevada, representing Ward 1. He assumed office in 2013. His current term ends on November 30, 2026.
Barron won re-election to the North Las Vegas City Council to represent Ward 1 in Nevada outright in the primary on June 14, 2022, after the general election was canceled.
Although city council elections in North Las Vegas are officially nonpartisan, Barron was listed by the Clark County Democrats as a Democratic candidate in 2017.[1]
Biography
Barron earned a B.S. in education from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and a master's degree in educational leadership from Nova Southeastern University. He also attended the Community College of Southern Nevada.[2]
Prior to joining the city council, Barron taught English Language Learners at French Ford Middle School, English Language Learners and social studies at Rancho High School, and adult education for the Clark County School District. He has also served as the Hispanic Student Union advisor and the boys and girls soccer coach for Rancho High School.[2]

2017
The city of North Las Vegas, Nevada, held a primary election for mayor and city council on April 4, 2017. A general election was scheduled for June 13, 2017. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was February 3, 2017.
The mayor's seat and the Ward 1 and Ward 3 seats on the city council were up for election in the primary. The Ward 3 race advanced to the general election. Incumbent Isaac E. Barron defeated Hector Rivera in the primary election for the Ward 1 seat on the North Las Vegas City Council.[3]

Barron's campaign website said that, through "his work on the city council, Isaac hopes to help stabilize the city's finances, rebrand the city, and get more people involved in local government."[2]
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that Barron's three campaign priorities were to "[c]ontinue downtown redevelopment; make it easier for small businesses to open in the city; hire more police officers, firefighters and other city workers."[4]
