Isaac Wright
Isaac Wright was a 2015 candidate for Super District 8 of the Memphis City Council in Tennessee. The general election took place on October 8, 2015.
Biography
Wright grew up in Memphis. He received an A.S. in information management from the Community College of the Air Force (1998), going on to earn a B.A. in history (2001) and an M.S. in leadership and policy studies (2005) from the University of Memphis. He also holds a graduate certificate in organizational leadership from Chapman University.
Wright works as a staff development coordinator for the Memphis City Schools. He previously spent 19 years as a selective service commander for the U.S. Air Force Reserves.[1]
Elections
2015
The city of Memphis, Tennessee, held elections for mayor and city council on October 8, 2015. Because this race could not move to a runoff, the candidate with the most votes was declared the winner, regardless of whether he or she won a majority.[2] The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was July 17, 2015.[3] In the District 8 Position 2 race, incumbent Janis Fullilove defeated J. Eason and Isaac Wright in the general election on October 8, 2015.[4]
