Israel Martinez (Democratic Party) was a member of the New York State Assembly, representing District 77.

Martinez (Democratic Party) ran for election to the New York State Senate to represent District 29. Martinez did not appear on the ballot for the Democratic primary on June 23, 2020.

Martinez passed away on April 8, 2020.

Martinez was a Democratic candidate for District 8 representative on the New York City Council in New York. He was defeated in the primary election on September 12, 2017.

Martinez previously served as a member of the New York State Assembly, representing District 77 from 1988 to 1991.[1] He ran for the District 15 seat on the New York City Council in 1991, the District 86 seat in the state Assembly in 2002, and the District 14 seat on the New York City Council in 2013.[2][3][4]

Martinez has served as a special assistant to Bronx Borough President Stanley Simon and a district leader for the 84th Assembly District.[5]
