Biography

Israel Ramón was born in Sabinas Hidalgo, Nuevo León, Mexico. He earned a bachelor's degree from Barat College of DePaul University in 1989. He earned a J.D. from Marquette University Law School in 1994. Ramón's career experience includes working as a court commissioner and as an attorney at law. He has been affiliated with the State Bar of Wisconsin, the Wisconsin Law Foundation, the Wisconsin Register of Deeds Association, the Property Records Industry Association, and the Wisconsin Hispanic Lawyers Association.[1]

Israel Ramón was appointed by Governor Tony Evers in May 2019. He ran for re-election in the Democratic Primary on August 11th 2020 and defeated his opponent, County Supervisor John Weishan, by a 65% to 35% Margin. He will be running unopposed in the November 3rd 2020 election.
Equal access to justice and government services.
The Register of Deeds is a Constitutional Office in Wisconsin that derives it's functions per Wisconsin Chapters 56 and 69.
My role model is retired Wisconsin Supreme Court Chief Justice Shirly Abrahamson. She served with honor and distinction, and was committed to the equal administration of justice.
Knowledge and dedication in serving the public and a sense of fairness.
Knowledge and committed public servant that values ethics and transparency.
Open and transparent governance.
Recording, indexing and archiving in perpetuity all land records in Milwaukee County as well making available vital records for Wisconsin residents.
Previous experience as an attorney, or Title or Real Estate experience should be required but I'd currently not.
