|She grew up in Brownsville, Texas, and graduated high school in 2000, and moved to the metroplex the same year. She worked an overnight shift at Walmart to pay for her college tuition. Italia graduated with honors from Texas Wesleyan University with a bachelor's in Bilingual Education. She taught for eight years and is a champion for families.
As a small business owner, the outrageous tax rates in our city have motivated her to become involved in the community to bring positive change. She believes it is essential to create a relationship with the community to understand the needs of everyone.
"I believe our city needs to prioritize policies that make sense for regular citizens like you and me. Let's lower taxes, support small businesses, put an end to rising crime and limit government in everyday life." Italia De La Cruz- Fort Worth Residents deserve to keep more of their own hard earned money. Decreasing the tax burden is of very high priority to me. Just as households need to live within their budgets so does the city. I look forward to being a part of identifying where we can save you money.
- Everyone wants to feel safe in their communities. Whether at work, school or out and about, safety is a priority. We need to make sure our law enforcement has the support they need to do their jobs properly. The residents of Fort Worth should have no doubt that our police are here to serve and protect. Building relationships between communities and law enforcement is part of that. I look forward to being a part of the solution in regards to safety in our streets.
- There is no need for duplicate or excessive regulation on our small businesses. Such regulation not only affects whether or not a small business can survive in Fort Worth, but it also affects the cost of living for Fort Worth Residents. These costly regulations get passed onto the consumers. Burdensome regulations also drive businesses away and I want to help Fort Worth attract small businesses.
