Campaign themes

2017

Adams' website highlighted the following campaign themes:[1]

Accountable representation

  • Excerpt: "As Servant Leaders, we have a responsibility to those who elect us to office. We take an oath to be transparent, fearless, credible and wise advocates for our constituency. I will continue to listen to, converse with and stand up for the residents in District 2."

Housing

  • Excerpt: "Safe shelter is a basic human right. Homelessness, displacement and being confined in an undesirable place are unacceptable when affordable choices should be available for all citizens. I will explore accessible housing options across the rental and ownership spectrum."

Economic diversification

  • Excerpt: "The success of Charlotte’s citizens and small businesses are a reflection of its economic health. In this regard, Charlotte's pulse is faint. I will seek higher wages for service workers, recruit a mix of industries to restore jobs to the under employed and encourage the financing of creative economic programs that grow existing small businesses and birth new ones."

Broadband

  • Excerpt: "Affordable Broadband Expansion - Dated digital infrastructure inhibits economic and educational progression. Access to quality high speed Internet at various price points should be available throughout our city to every citizen. I will continue to pursue digital equity for all citizens."
