Since 1983 I've been proud to be an active resident of Lexington. My life in public service began as a teenager growing up in Williamstown, Kentucky, and continued when Gov. Martha Layne Collins appointed me to serve in her administration.

I have been honored since then to accept leadership roles in higher education, banking, public relations, charitable foundations, and government.

Service to our Lexington community is my lifelong commitment and includes volunteer leadership in over 40 social services, education, neighborhood, religious, and charity/non-profit organizations. See a partial list of my public service below.

I'm the proud father of two sons who graduated from Lexington public schools and are a dentist (Miles) and a future attorney (Brooks).

The LFUCG Council makes all the critical decisions for the operation of Lexington-Fayette County. It is the hub in the wheel and ties all of local government together.
To have had an integral role in making Lexington the best place to call home.
Not necessarily. But when one such as myself has exceptional years of executive-level experience in higher education, business, government and civic leadership, the value of all that background and preparation serves the voters at a high level in ways an unprepared candidate cannot serve. As I figure it, with something as complex as this job the public is not well served by a novice or a candidate who has one or two issues in mind. A seasoned leader with a wide-range of top level experience offers value, wisdom, and ability to work with everyone to find fair, sustainable paths forward.
