J. Mark Rogers is a circuit court judge for the Sixteenth Circuit Court in Tennessee. The court oversees cases from Rutherford, and Cannon counties. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Phil Bredesen on July 16, 2004, to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Steve Daniel. Rogers was elected to the court in 2006 and re-elected in 2014. His current eight-year term expires in 2022.[1][2][3]

General: He defeated Jeffrey L. Peach in the general election on August 7, 2014, receiving 56.9 percent of the vote. [4][3]

Education

Rogers received his undergraduate degree from Middle Tennessee State University in 1974 and his J.D. degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law, Knoxville in 1977.[1][5]

Career

Before his appointment to the court in 2004, Rogers worked as an attorney in private practice with the law firms of Rogers & Eischeid; Reed, Rogers & Trail; and Rochelle and Callis.[1][5]
